KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishwor Pokhrel has stressed on the formulation and implementation of policies and programs to end violence against women.

Speaking at a program under the Year-Long Campaign against the Gender-based Violence (GBV) in Kathmandu today, the DPM Pokhrel stressed the need of connecting people at the local level with government launched programs aimed at promoting gender parity.

He said that the government was working to create an environment for ensuring the right of all to live with dignity by ending all sorts of discrimination.

Maintaining that the government was committed to protect and rescue of the survivor, Minister Pokhrel said the formal and sponsored efforts would not contribute to minimizing violence.
