Identities of Chitwan accident victims ascertained



CHITWAN: Police have established the identity of five picnickers killed in an accident at Rapti Municipality-5 of Chitwan on Saturday evening.

Five picnickers had died and one was injured in the accident when the four-wheeler, Na 1 Ha 6409, heading from Chepangmarg to Bhandara overturned suddenly at Dumrekhadi.

The overcrowded vehicle was returning from a picnic when it met with an accident, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Those losing lives to this accident were Shyam Prasad Tiwari, 49, of Pipaltari in Kushma municipality, Bishwamadi Bhandari, 42, of Khairahani municipality-9 and Meena Khadka, 25, of Rapti municipality-9 in the district, informed Superintendent of Police (SP), Dan Bahadur Malla.

Other victims were Maya Tamang, 32, of Rapti municipality-9 and Manmaya Nepali, 39, Khairahani municipality-3 in Chitwan.

They had breathed their last during the treatment at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, shared SP Malla.

Similarly, injured in the accident was Maniram Giri, 26, of Khairahani municipality-3 of Chitwan. The driver of the vehicle, Giri’s health is learnt to be in critical condition, according to the police.
