Supreme Court to hear writ filed by actress Shilpa Pokharel

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday is scheduled to hear a writ filed by the wife of film producer Chhabi Ojha actress Shilpa Pokharel.

A single bench of Justice Sushmalata Mathema will hear the writ filed by Pokharel against the orders by District Court, Kathmandu and Patan High Court.

Hearing the writ on August 18, a single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR had ordered an interim order not to arrest the actress.

Kathmandu District Court had ordered to arrest the actress after hearing a polygamy case filed by Ojha’s first wife Hema Pokharel.

After the arrest warrant was issued, Pokharel had moved high court demanding to annul the warrant. But, the court declined to issue such order.

Dissatisfied by the order, Pokharel had filed the writ at the apex court on August 14.
