MAHOTTARI: Mahottari Police has arrested a man on the charge of raping a 12-year-old Dalit girl from the district. The rape was allegedly assisted by the mother of the rape survivor and the woman has also been held.

Siya Ram Mahato, 40, of Bardibas Municipality-6, with the help of the rape survivor’s mother, lured and took the girl to New Delhi, India, and raped her for 17 days after keeping her hostage there, said Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari.
