56,000 children deprived of vaccination

KATHMANDU: The government has spent over Rs 1 billion under the vaccination program. But still many children are deprived of the vaccination.

According to a report of the health and demographic survey, 22 percent of children have not yet received vaccine for various kinds of diseases including tuberculosis.

Despite government’s claim that it has been successfully running vaccination program, children in the rural areas are deprived of vaccination.

Under the vaccination program, 56,700 children have received BCG vaccine against tuberculosis this year.
