Directive issued to end Chhaupadi



KATHMANDU: Government bodies are directed to come up with a list of social evils including Chhaupadi along with action plans and strategies to combat them. Women and Social Committee of the Federal Parliament issued the directive to the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens and other concerned bodies today.

The committee has decided to instruct the ministry and the related bodies to carry activities for abolishing Chhaupadi practice in the Far-west region of the country immediately in collaboration with the local levels so that the results can be achieved within two months.
