Nepal wins bronze medal in SAG women’s cricket

POKHARA: Nepal has won a bronze medal in the women’s cricket tournament under the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Pokhara on Saturday.

Nepal clinched the bronze medal by thrashing the Maldives by 10 wickets in the match held for the third position.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the Maldives was all out for eight runs in 11.3 overs. Nepal reached the target in the second ball of first over.

Nepal’s Anjali Chand was declared the ‘player of the match’. Chand had taken four wickets of the Maldives by giving away only one run in four overs.
