13 injured in Jhapa bus accident



JHAPA: As many as 13 people were injured when a picnic bus me with an accident nearby Rekhapul at Birtamode in Jhapa district along the East-West Highway today morning.

The injured have been identified as assistant driver Bikash Limu, 30, of Pathari-1, Morang, Santosh Khadka, 27, of Damak-10, Pawan Khadka, 19, from the same place and Ismriti Dhimal, 17, of Urlabari-3.

The other injured ones were Abhaya Dhimal, 14, of Damak-10, Maya Dhimal, 22, of Urlabari, Morang, Bibasha Dhimal, 18, of Damak-10, Binita Hamal, 19, Roshan Dhimal, 22, Netra Nepali, 28, Aayush Nepali, 18, Pradeep Rijal, 19 and Nainkala Khadka, 40, from the same locality.

The incident occurred when the bus (Na 6 Kha 6181) heading from Damak in Jhapa to Kanyam in  Ilam district reached nearby Rekhapul.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, said Police Inspector at the District Traffic Office, Jhapa, Hom Prasad Adhikari.

All the injured ones are currently receiving treatment in B and C Hospital at Birtamode, informed Police Inspector Adhikari.
