DARCHULA: The Darchula Police on Friday night arrested two student leaders associated with the student wing of the outlawed Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav group.

A team of District Police Office (DPO), Darchula district arrested Jeevan Bahadur Bista, 20, of Lekam-1 in Sarmauli in Darchula and Prem Mahara, 21, of Purchaudi municipality-10 in Baitadi district, according to the DPO, Darchula.

They were arrested from Sikhar Balanch in Shailya Sikhar municipality-1 in Darchula, said Police Inspector Surendra Prasad Joshi.

The duo was allegedly involved in painting the name of their political party in the signboard of the Lekham municipality’s ward no 1’s office on December 4, police said.
