13th SAG Men’s Football: Nepal takes lead against Maldives 2-1

KATHMANDU: Nepal has taken lead against the Maldives 2-1 in the ongoing men’s football tournament under the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) underway at Dasharath Stadium on Saturday.

Anil Tamang doubled the score in the 52nd minute.

Earlier the Maldives scored a goal against Nepal in the 18th minute. Nepal leveled the score in the 42nd minute. Abhishek Rijal scored the goal for Nepal.

Nepal is in the second position on the points table with four points from two games.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated Bhutan 4-0 and drew with Bangladesh 1-1 in the second match.

The second match will be held between Sri Lanka and Bhutan.
