Nepal vs Kuwait match not be played in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Nepal vs Kuwait match as per the World Cup 2022 and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asia Cup 2023 Qualifiers will not be played in Kathmandu.

While inspecting the Tripureshwor-based Dashrath Stadium, a team of AFC concluded that the match can’t be held as the reconstruction of the stadium is yet to be completed.

Writing a formal letter to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Thursday, AFC said that the match can’t be held in Kathmandu. The match was slated to be held on November 19.

Meanwhile, ANFA has proposed Bhutan as a neutral venue for the game.
