Six including Bidya Bhattarai file nominations in Kaski-2

KASKI: Leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bidya Bhattarai has registered her nomination for Kaski Constituency-2.

Krishna Bahadur Thapa proposed Bhattarai’s candidacy which was seconded by Prabha Koirala.

Bhattarai is the wife of late former Minister Rabindra Adhikari.

Similarly, Rajani KC has registered her candidacy representing Sajha Party. Yagya Prasad Pangeni and Kamal Jang Kunwar have filed their nominations as independent candidates.

Earlier, in the general elections held in  2074 BS, Rabindra Adhikari, Bhattarai’s husband, had won the elections. The by-election is taking place on November 30 after Adhikari died in a helicopter crash on February 27.

Candidates’ nomination filing is taking place today in view of the by-election for vacant members of House of Representatives and State Assembly scheduled for coming November 30.

According to the Election Commission, the nomination filing started at 10 am and will end at 1 pm today.
