200 local levels to have senior citizen service centers soon



KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Thammaya Thapa, has said the government was always ready to extend assistance for the protection of senior citizen’s rights.

At a program organized by the Senior Citizens Day Service Centre at Bandegaon of Godawari Municipality today, Minister Thapa informed that among 753 local levels, 200 would have senior citizen service centers soon. The government was launching various programs to ensure rights to senior citizens, she added.

“The citizens over sixty years are venerable. They are sources of knowledge,” she said, pointing out the need of transferring their knowledge and skills to the young generation.
