17 die in Dubai bus crash

DUBAI: At least 17 people have been killed after a bus hit an overhead road sign in Dubai, media reports have said.

Several others have been injured in the Oman-registered bus carrying 31 passengers when it met with an accident on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Reports said eight Indian citizens were among the dead. An investigation is underway, police said.

Dubai police have tweeted offering their “condolences and sympathies” to the victims’ families. (Agencies)
