Lightning strike claims 2, injures 8 in separate places

KATHMANDU: Two people were killed and eight others  sustained injuries in lightning strikes in different places in the country.

The deceased have been identified as Binod Pakhrin  of Rakshing-9, Makwanpur. He died after being hit by lightning strikes while he was sleeping in his house. Buddhi Lal Moktan sustained injuries in the incident, informed Chandra Bahadur Chepang, local.

Similarly, 34-year-old Pashupati Acharya of Gaurmukhi Rural Municipality-5 died after being struck by lightning strikes on Thursday night, police confirmed.

Likewise, seven people sustained injuries in lightning strikes in Doti. The injured are Devi Bohara, 26, Bhagu Damai, 23, Padma Dhanuk, 35, Kalpana Dholi, 16, Durga Damai, 28, Jamani Damai, 32 and Midhu Damai, 28, said DSP Nirmal Budhathoki.
