Former national kushti player turns beekeeper

KANCHANPUR: Narendra Khatri, a former national kushti player, has turned a beekeeper.

Khatri had played kushti for almost 15 years and had bagged several medals. He had grabbed the medals in the fourth and the fifth national games. Similarly, he had spent some years as a kushti trainer.

Khatri said he adopted the profession as the fame he earned as a kushti player can’t earn him a living.

He started beekeeping from five beehives. Now, he has 80 beehives and sells 2000 kg of honey in a year. He earns around 1.6 million in a year and saves money for the future.

Khatri said he was happy with his decision.
