MBBS entrance exam postponed

KATHMANDU: The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has postponed the MBBS entrance examination slated for Saturday following a stay order by the Supreme Court (SC).

Issuing a statement on Friday, IOM said that the exams have been postponed until further notice. Earlier today, the apex court had ordered the institute to put off the exam for the time being.

A single bench of Justice Tej Bahadur KC had made the order after hearing writ filed by Aayush Ojha arguing that the exam is being held going against the National Medical Education Bill.

Medical students have been protesting calling for a scholarship of up to 75 percent in medical education as defined by the act.
