Mother jumps into Saptakoshi River with four kids



SAPTARI: A mother, who had jumped into the Saptakoshi River, with her four children, has been rescued alive.

One of her children was also successfully rescued, while the remaining three are missing.

Roshana Khatoon, 35, a resident of Govindapur in ward no. 8 of Golbazaar municipality, Siraha had jumped into the river at Kankalini municipality-1, Hanuman Nagar last night.

She was rescued three kilometers downstream along with her five-year-old son Tahasil the next morning. Roshana is undergoing treatment at the Bhardaha hospital, according to the District Police Office.

Meanwhile, police and locals are trying to find three other children of Roshana including two sons, one aged 12 and other seven, and a two-year-old daughter. A strong current of water in the river is making the rescue work difficult, police said.
