38 journalists killed in last six months



NETHERLANDS: As many as 38 journalists were killed in the first six months of the year 2019, according to Geneva-based Press Emblem Campaign (PEC).

This number is less by 42 percent as compared to the year 2018. During the first six months of 2019 (January to June), nine journalists were killed in Mexico and six were killed in Afghanistan.

The PEC is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with Special consultative UN status.
