BHADRAPUR: Four districts of the east are reeling under the acute shortage of petroleum products.

Jhapa, Morang, Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung facing the shortage of petroleum products due to non-cooperation of Indian customs officials to release tankers carrying petroleum products meant for Nepal that were stuck at Panitanki transit point for the past one week.

Indian customs authorities unnecessarily delayed releasing the tankers citing the operation of online entry system, said an official of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Jhapa. Many petrol pumps have been shut as a result.
