KATHMANDU: Australian Ambassador to Nepal Peter Budd warned that Nepali leaders might be arrested in foreign lands at a time when the transitional justice (TJ) is long overdue to be concluded.
He hinted that those Nepali leaders who were involved directly or indirectly in grave human rights violations might be arrested while visiting countries including Australia.
Talking to journalist at an interaction held recently, Budd expressed concerns over the leaders’ indifference to resolve grave human rights violations committed during the decade-long Maoist insurgency.
He expressed dissatisfaction saying that the no significant progress took place in the TJ even after 12 years elapsed by since it was formed.
