KATHMANDU: Bhaktapur Municipality has acknowledged the support of Nepal Army (NA) in carrying out renovation and reconstruction of historical Rani Pokhari on the premises of its barrack.
A team of the municipality led by Mayor Sunil Prajapati on Wednesday gave away an attractive ‘peacock wall art’ to Army Chief Purna Chandra Thapa in recognition of NA’s approval and support in undertaking Ranipokhari renovation within the barrack.
The municipality applauded the cooperation extended by NA in course of rebuild of Rani Pokhari located on the premises of Sainik Awashiya Mahavidhyalaya at Bhaktapur-1, Sallaghari as well as its contribution to allow the youths to use its sports ground.
It has long been in shambles so the municipality with support from NA and locals took the bid to reconstruct the historical heritage, Prajapati added.
On the occasion, Army Chief Thapa pledged to localize the military-people relations by extending support to the local efforts for preserving historically important culture, traditions and heritages in different parts of the country.
