Nomination filing for by-election from Thursday



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) has called for filing the nominations for the upcoming by-election from November 7 onwards.

The by-election is taking place on November 30 to fill the vacant posts of people’s representatives in the House of Representatives (HoR), State Assembly (SA) and local level units across the country.

According to the ECN, candidates registering their nominations for HoR and PA should do the needful on November 7 from 10 am to 1 pm at the office of the Chief Returning Officers in their respective district headquarters.

Similarly, candidates vying for posts in local level units should register their nomination on November 13 from 10 am to 1 pm at the office of the Chief Returning Officers.

The nominations should be submitted for the HoR and PA posts as per the Local Level By-Election Guidelines-2076 while the nominations for local level units should be submitted in compliance with the Rule 5 of Local Level Election Regulations-2073.
