Expansion of economic relation between Nepal, European countries stressed

KATHMANDU: President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) Rajesh Kazi Shrestha and NCC office-bearers met Nepali Ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg Lok Bahadur Thapa at NCC Secretariat on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Ambassador Thapa said that he was working to enhance the economic relation between the countries and Nepal. He added that he will consider the suggestions expressed in the coming days.

He expressed his commitment to play an effective role to promote Nepali products and tourism along with investment opportunities, adding that he will be in a touch with NCC.

Thapa, who is also Nepal envoy to European Union, said that Nepal should benefit from ‘Everything but Arms’ (EBA) of EU under which all imports to the EU from the Least Developed Countries are duty-free and quota-free.

On the occasion, President Shrestha stressed bringing investment from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg in Nepal on hydropower, tourism and production sectors among others.
