Mahout killed in tiger attack



RAJAPUR: A mahout died from a tiger attack inside the Bardiya National Park on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Mangaru Tharu of Mohanpur, Thakurbaba municipality-7.

According to Rabin Kadariya, the conservation officer of National Trust for Nature Conservation of the Bardiya National Park, the tiger attacked Tharu near the ‘Rhino Watch Tower’ inside the Park when he had gone to collect grass.

Tharu had been working at the Park’s elephant shelter for 22 years.
