Prez administers oath of office and secrecy to newly-appointed governors

KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari today administered the oath of office and secrecy to the seven newly appointed governors of all seven provinces.

President Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Somnath Adhikari (Province 1), Tilak Pariyar (Province 2), Bishnu Prasai (Province 3), Amik Sherchan (Gandaki Province), Dharma Nath Yadav (Province 5), Govinda Kalauni (Karnali Province), and Sharmila Kumari Pantha (Sudhu Paschhim Province) at the President’s Office Shital Niwas.

President Bhandari had on Monday endorsed the names of the new governors as recommended by the Cabinet.

Meanwhile, the President on the recommendation of the government had on Sunday sacked the then governors of all seven provinces.
