KATHMANDU: Half-a-dozen commercial banks have expressed commitment to go into merger.  Earlier, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) had issued a directive instructing the banks to get ready for merger within 15 days.

Nepal Investment Bank, Mega Bank, Sunrise Bank, Citizens Bank, Sanima Bank and Civil Bank have expressed commitment in witting for merger.

“Now, these banks are looking for partner for merger,” said Laxmi Prapanna Niraula, spokesperson of NRB.
