Cyclone Fani: Over 1,000 houses destroyed in Bangladesh homes

DHAKA: Cyclone Fani has destroyed more than 1,000 houses, causing extensive damage in Bangladesh, media reports have said.

Entire villages have been submerged in the country.

At least five people died while 63 have been injured, authorities said.

Meanwhile, around one million people were evacuated to safety.

In India, at least 16 people were killed by the cyclone when it hit India on Friday. (Agencies)
