DAILEKH: The single women and senior citizens of Narayan municipality-9 are being deprived of receiving the first quarter of social security allowance they are entitled to.

More than 2,000 beneficiaries have been deprived of accessing the state-sponsored allowance due to ignorance on part of the municipality.

The municipality has not issued the allowance citing the frequent transfer of the executive officer.

However, Resham Budha, chief administrative officer of the municipality, admitted that the delay was caused due to the time-taking process in the operation of bank accounts of the municipality.

The distribution of social security allowance was caused due to a delay in receiving a check from the Single Treasury Accounts office, he clarified.
