Parliament continues deliberations on budget

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers interpreted the budget through different perspectives in today’s parliament meeting.

The main opposition Nepali Congress General-Secretary Dr. Shashanka Koirala said that the budget was not based on the foundation of reality.

Lawmaker Surendra Kumar Karki opined that the budget was positive and said that the basic needs of people should be ensured by the State.

Lawmaker Parbata DC Chaudhary argued that the budget was distributive while lawmaker Padma Giri said if the budget was implemented then the trade deficit will be lessened.

Likewise, lawmaker Gagan Thapa argued that the budget failed to meet people’s aspiration and create the foundation for prosperity.
