KASKI: Nepal Army’s Jagdish Ghisingh has won gold in equestrian high jump with a new national record. Ghisingh’s horse named Sammohan jumped 5.9 inches to create a new record in the event held at Barahighat sports ground on Friday.
The competition is organized by Nepal Equestrian Association and National Sports Council, in coordination with Nepal Army. Earlier, the record was held by Ramhari Khadka with 5.5 inches. Along with the gold medal, Ghisingh also won Rs. 20,000 in cash prie. Rajendra Thapa and Karan Chaudhary won silver and bronze medal respectively in the event. Likewise, Om Prakash Yadav of Nepal Army won gold in Show Jumping by completing the obstacles in one minute.
Jagdish Ghimire of NA won silver with 1 min 13 secs while Megh Bikram Khadka won bronze. In tent pegging category, Nepal Army’s Govinda Bahadur Khadka won gold while Om Prakash Yadav and Lilaram Khadka won silver and bronze medals respectively.
Raj Adhikari won gold in pony race competition to win Rs. 15,000 in cash. Mayor of Pokhara Man Bahadur GC and other guests distributed prizes and certificates to the winners.
