Nepal Communist Party to field Bidya Bhattarai in Kaski-2

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has picked Bidya Bhattarai as the party’s candidate for the by-elections from Kaski-2.

A Secretariat meeting of the party held on Saturday decided to that effect. However, a formal announcement will be made on Sunday.

Bhattarai is the wife of former Minister for Tourism Rabindra Adhikari who died in a chopper crash on February 27.

The provincial committee of the party had recommended Bhattarai, Somnath Pyasi and Rajkaji Gurung as the party’s candidates for the by-polls.
