KHALANGA: Twenty-two schools based in Sinja Rural Municipality in Jumla which were closed for an ‘indefinite’ period since Sunday resumed today. The agitating side lifted the padlock after the concerned bodies assured to address private teachers’ demand for payment.
According to Private Teachers’ Struggle Committee treasurer Hari Bahadur Rokaya, the agitating private teachers became ready to pull out the protest after rural municipality chair Dewal Singh Rawal and Education Department (under the rural municipality) chief Nabin Sharma gave words to address their demand.
Sixty-three private teachers in Sinja have complained of non-payment of their salary in this academic session. As they said, though private teachers on June 26 had given an ultimatum of four days to the school management committee.
