PM’s message from hospital bed: “I am recuperating”

KATHMANDU: Amid rumors about Prime Minister K P Oli’s health condition, Prime Minister Oli on Monday explained to the people about his health condition saying he is recuperating and is in good spirits.

Prime Minister Oli in a video message on Twitter from the hospital bed said he has been ‘able to talk and watch news’.

He recalled the appendicitis operation that he has recently undergone saying, “As you all know, since appendicitis occurs all of a sudden, it happened to me as well.”

He went on to say that he had to undergo major surgery as his appendicitis burst and spread to other parts.

“The treatment was lengthy as the infection spread to other parts,” he said in his message, adding, “It would have been easier for the doctors had it not burst and the infection not spread to other parts.”

“Yesterday, I watched the opening ceremony of 13th South Asian Games,” a confident PM said.

Now that, he continued, that he is gradually improving and thanked the President for opening the SAG.

“SAG, I hope, would help further strengthen regional ties,” he concluded.

He has also appealed to the players of SAG to promote regional cooperation through games.
