Racer Rokaya clinches NSJF Lifetime Achievement Award 2075

KATHMANDU: Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) has honored marathoner Hari Bahadur Rokaya with NSJF Lifetime Achievement Award 2075.

Powered by Goldstar in association with Action Sports, Rokaya was feted with the coveted award amid a ceremony held at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi on Tuesday.

Rokaya, who has introduced Nepal in the global arena through athletics, had begun his sports career in 2041 BS. Rokaya had won two bronze medals in national athletics championship then.

In 1990s, he had participated in two Olympics, two Asian games and two Asian championships, representing Nepal. He had won a bronze medal in the 3rd South Asian Games.

Rokaya won Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon thrice to register his name in Guinness World Records.

He had won a gold medal by covering the sect distance within 3 hours 50 minutes and 23 seconds, which has remained unbeaten to date.
