FSFN and Naya Shakti to unify

KATHMANDU: Naya Shakti Party Nepal led by former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN)  led by Upendra Yadav have announced merger.

A high level meeting between the two parties is taking place to this effect. Meanwhile, FSFN has postponed its general convention scheduled for May 10 after the unification move headed in a positive direction.

According to FSFN sources, both the parties have agreed to undergo merger by forming a 25-member National Executive Council with 16 members from FSFN and nine from Naya Shakti Party. In the unified party, Bhattarai will be chairman  while Yadav executive chairman, said the report.
