Khadka, Thapa take oath for 13th SAG



KATHMANDU: Cricket player Paras Khadka took the oath on behalf of all Nepali athletes participating in the 13th South Asian Games that started today in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur.

Likewise, international badminton referee Dipak Thapa was sworn in on behalf of referees and sport officials.

During the march-past in the inaugural ceremony on Sunday, weightlifting player Kamal Bahadur Adhikari held the national flag.

The SAG torch was brought to the Dasharath Stadium after being toured in all seven states under the leadership of Nepal’s first Olympian Jit Bahadur KC. The SAG song was sung by singer Indira Joshi and her team. The song’s lyricist is Mukunda Raj Sharma.

Likewise, pictures of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the national flags of all seven participating countries and electronic show of 26 sports to be played in the mega sports were put on display.
