NC wins election at Hilihang-7, CPN secures Phidim Municipality-1

PHIDIM: Results of the by-election for two ward chairs in the Panchthar district have been declared.

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) candidate Gajadhar Bhattarai became victorious from the Phidim Municipality-1 while Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Til Bikram Indhingo won the election at Hilihang Rural Municipality-7, according to Chief Returning Office, Panchthar.

At Phidim Municipality-1, Bhattarai secured 1,446 votes against 972 votes by his nearest competitor Suwaraj Thapa of the Nepali Congress.

At Hilihang-7, the NC won the election by 30 votes against the CPN’s candidate Gehanath Rijal. Idhingo garnered 842 votes, said the Election Officer’s Office, Hilihang.
