NC wins ward chair in Baitadi

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has own the by-elections held for post of the ward chair in Surnaya Rural Municipality in Baitadi district.

NC candidate Gajendra Bahadur Chand has been elected as the ward chair by defeating his closest rival of Nepal Communist Party Dhan Bahadur Chand by four votes. Gajendra got 219 votes while Dhan Bahadur received 215 votes.

Of the total 619 votes, 438 had been cast in the elections.
