KATHMANDU: The first meeting of the Joint Working Committee (JWC) comprising representatives of Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on November 3-4.

The labor-related meeting is likely to pave the way for the enforcement of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labor issues.

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security said that the meeting will finalize issues concerning the implementation of the MoU and the fixation of item cost in regard to the recruitment of workers, employment and their return among others.

The meeting will also dwell on the technical issues required to implement the MoU, according to Ministry’s Joint Secretary Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire.

Dr Ghimire, who is leading the six-member Nepali delegation, said that the meeting will basically focus on the effective implementation of the MoU.

Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of the International Relations Division, UAE’s Human Resource Ministry, will lead the UAE delegation.
