Special discount offer announced for Visit Nepal 2020



KATHMANDU: Several organizations have announced a special discount offer on their services in view of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign which is approaching nearer.

The Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), and the Homestay Association Nepal among others have come up with a special discount offer on accommodation (30 percent) and food (15 percent) for tourists beginning from the coming January. The scheme shall remain in effect till the end of December 2020.

HAN first vice president Binayak Shah said HAN member hotels have been requested to implement the scheme which is meant for all foreign tourists arriving in Nepal.

Around 2,000 hotels including five-star ones are associated with the HAN and it has 15 chapters.  Similarly, the Homestay Association has promised a discount of up to 20 percent in regard to its services on the same occasion. Association chair Keshab Badal said foreign tourists can enjoy up to 20 percent discount on food and lodging.

Over 600 Homestays are operational in 57 districts across the country.

The government has intensified tourism promotional activities as per its goal of welcoming two million tourists in this period.  Special attention is said to have been given on the development of touristic infrastructure and service strengthening in view of the Visit Nepal Year.

In the existing situation, hotels in the country are capable to accommodate two and a half million tourists, it is learnt.
