Police arrest two in Kolkata with 10 kg explosives, guns

KOLKATA: Indian police have arrested two persons along with a huge cache of explosive substances and weapons during a raid in Rajabazar area, Indian media reports have said.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and arrested two persons from Rajabazar tram depot.

Kolkata Police said the two persons were suspected to be part of an arms-smuggling racket who have come to the city to deliver the consignment.

According to the police, they have seized 10 kg of explosives substances and two improvised country-made single-shot firearms.

Police have initiated a case against the two under sections of Arms Act and Explosive Substance Act. (Agencies)
