Tourism Minster apprises opposition party leader of tourism action plan

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has apprised Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba of his year-long action plan and Visit Nepal Year-2020.

Minster Bhattarai reached Deuba residence Budhanilakantha to inform the opposition party president about his ministerial action plan along with measures to be taken to make tourism year a success. This is so far the first time that the ruling minister apprised the opposition party leader of the former’s plan of action.

“I have shared the works being carried out by the Tourism Ministry, its annual calendar and tourism year-2020”, Bhattarai said. “Deuba listened to the briefing about Tourism Year and ministry’s planned works as well as provided significant suggestions”, the minister further shared.

On the same occasion, Minster Bhattarai also handed a book to Deuba which outlines an annual action plan of the ministry for a year. During the meet, Bhattarai urged Deuba to provide support and stressed the need for collaboration between ruling and opposition party for the development of the country. “You served the country as prime minister thrice and have experience and source of inspiration. Your support is a must”, Bhattarai told Deuba.

In return, Deuba pledged to extend cooperation in the agenda of the country’s development. “I have full-fledged support to make Visit Nepal Year 2020 a success and implement the annual policy and plan you unveiled”, Minster Bhattarai quoted the former Prime Minister as saying.

Minister Bhattarai had come up with a 141-point action plan accompanied by key strategies and priorities to yield results of the ministry’s actions. Bhattarai took the charge of a ministerial berth on August 26.
