PM Oli leaves for cyclone-hit Bara, Parsa districts



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left for Province 2 to take stock of the disaster-hit Bara and Parsa districts.

A deadly cyclone struck Bara and Parsa on Sunday evening, leaving 32 people dead and over 500 critically injured.
Prime Minister Oli, who had gone to attend programs in Jhapa and Morang districts organized by Nepal Communist Party, has left for Province 2. According to his aide Chetan Adhikari, Oli left for the incident site in a helicopter from Chandragadi airport.

A cabinet meeting of the Province 2 held this morning announced Rs 300,000 in relief to each family of the deceased.

Meanwhile, the government has formed a five-member high-level committee led by Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Gyanendra Sah to for relief and rescue purposes.
