KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that Nepal continues to grapple with violence and human rights abuses.

“It’s imperative for all of us to responsibly engage in efforts to eradicate anti-human rights activities once and for all,” he stressed.

Deuba made these remarks while extending his wishes to all Nepalis for peace, happiness, prosperity, and progress on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti.

“Let us wholeheartedly embrace the teachings of Gautam Buddha, the epitome of peace, tolerance, and harmony, in both our words and actions, and stand against unrest, violence, and bloodshed. May peace prevail in our nation, and may everyone be liberated from all forms of oppression,” he urged.
