Gandaki CM Adhikari pleads to save mountain region from climate change impact

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Khagaraj Adhikari, has insisted on wider cooperation to save the mountain region from suffering the consequences of climate change impact.

In his address to the opening session of Mountains, People, and Climate here today, the Chief Minister said climate change impact has adverse impacts on the lives of mountain people, urging for wider cooperation to mitigate the problems.

“Climate change has caused a severe impact on biodiversity and atmospheric conditions. It is urgent to mitigate such problems and impacts. The incidents of floods in Manang and Mustang are a testament to the damages caused by climate change in our lives and nature. Let’s save the region from the problems,” he said.
