KATHMANDU: In a meeting between Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, India’s newly-appointed Federal Minister, S. Jaishankar, on Monday, discussions centered around bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, and the prompt execution of prior agreements and understandings.

The meeting, held at Hotel Taj where Prime Minister Dahal was lodging during his India visit, served as a platform for both leaders to exchange views on enhancing ties between their nations.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal extended congratulations to Minister Jaishankar on his recent appointment and expressed confidence in the reinforcement of mutual relations and people-to-people bonds in the days ahead.

There’s speculation that Minister Jaishankar might retain his position as the Indian Foreign Minister in his subsequent term.

Likewise, Minister Jaishankar conveyed gratitude to Prime Minister Dahal and the Nepal Government for their participation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.

He emphasized India’s commitment to advancing the implementation of bilateral agreements and understandings, assuring Prachanda of significant progress in this regard.
