Mundum International Art Expo commences in Kathmandu

The ‘Mundum International Art Exhibition,’ organized by Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality of Khotang district, has begun in Kathmandu. President Ramchendra Paudel inaugurated the expo at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal. During the event, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, expressed the belief that such international expos would contribute to promoting sustainable tourism development.

Curfew imposed in Ishanath Municipality, Rautahat, following communal clash

The local administration has issued a curfew order effective from 5 PM today in Ishanath Municipality of Rautahat. The decision comes after a clash erupted between two communities on February 15, related to the disposal of the Saraswati idol of Saraswatipuja. The communal dispute led to heated altercations in a meeting called to ‘settle’ the issue, resulting in the injuries of half a dozen locals. The District Administration Office, Rautahat, imposed a curfew from 5 PM today in various areas of Ishanath Municipality.

Nepali Congress leaders including 22 central committee members, have formally announced a Special Campaign for the establishment of Vedic Sanatan Hindu state Nepal on Saturday. Central Committee member Shankar Bhandari made the official announcement of the campaign in Kathmandu today. Declaring the campaign on Saturday afternoon, leader Bhandari drew attention towards the party’s commitment to protect the country’s Sanatan Dharma and lead the nation forward protecting the glorious cultural values.

WHO commends Nepal’s initiative to restrict trans-fatty acids in food

The World Health Organization (WHO) has extended its congratulations to Nepal for enacting legislation to limit the levels of industrially produced trans-fatty acids in food products. In a recent press statement, Saima Wazed, Regional Director for South East Asia, praised Nepal for its proactive steps to regulate the production of trans-fat through legal measures, aiming to promote health and save lives. Director Wazed emphasized the cost-effectiveness of eliminating trans-fatty acids, highlighting its significant health benefits in preventing premature deaths from cardiovascular diseases.

UML whip Bartaula calls for Minister Jwala’s resignation over Balkumari incident

Mahesh Bartaula, the whip of the CPN-UML, has demanded the resignation of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, in connection with the Balkumari Incident. The incident, which occurred on December 29, resulted in the tragic death of two youths during a clash between agitating EPS Korean Language students and police personnel. An investigation commission formed to probe the case has held Minister Jwala responsible for the escalation of the incident.

Nepal clinches convincing nine-wicket victory over Netherlands in ICC CWC League 2 encounter

NEB releases Grade 12 board exam routine

The National Examination Board (NEB) has disclosed the examination schedule for Grade 12 board exams. The exams are set to commence from April 26 and will be held from 8 am to 11 am, concluding on May 8, as per NEB’s announcement.
