Festivals help preserve culture: President Paudel



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed the belief that unique festivals like Indrajatra subsisting for centuries help preserve culture and ancient civilization.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Kumari Indrajatra festival today, President Paudel wished peace, prosperity and happiness to all Nepali sisters and brothers living in the country and abroad.

On the day of Indrajatra, the God of rain and good harvest, Indra, is worshipped along with the towing of the chariot of Kumari, Ganesh and Bhairava.

President Paudel expected that Indrajatra would help foster harmony, tolerance and cooperation among all ethnic groups and lingual communities in the country.
