Developing a sense of unity among citizens vital for national security: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that responsibility and sentiment of unity towards the nation should be developed among the citizens for national security. Prime Minister Dahal opined that the traditional concept that the issue of national security is only the military power has now become broader.

Meeting of ruling coalition inconclusive

A meeting of top leaders of the ruling coalition to finalize sharing of ministries ended conclusively on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda presented the draft of the Common Minimum Program (CMP) at the meeting. Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lakhek said that the meeting would continue tomorrow morning to endorse the CMP and finalize the distribution of ministries.

PM Dahal and Unified Socialist leaders hold talks

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda held a discussion with leaders of the Unified Socialist party on Tuesday morning. Unified Socialist leaders, including Jhalanath Khanal, Ghanashyam Bhusal and Prakash Jwala held talks with PM Dahal at the latter’s official residence, Baluwatar on cabinet expansion, among other issues.

Fire turns six houses into ashes in Bara

Fire that broke out in Simraungadh of Bara this morning has destroyed six houses and sheds. The fire occurred in Ranibas Bazaar of Simraungadh Municiplaity-2 destroyed property worth amounting to one million rupees, informed Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Simraungadh, Surendra Saha.

NBA asks Acting CJ Karki to begin fully automated system

The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has asked Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki to ensure proceedings of the cases through a fully automated system within 15 days. A team of the NBA led by President Gopal Krishna Ghimire met the Acting Chief Justice on Tuesday and drew latter’s attention to advance the proceedings of the cases on the basis of fully automated system.
